On Wednesday, October 27,2010 Kris Allen and his band performed before a sold out crowd in a concert to benefit Blackbird Academy of Arts, and arts and music academy in Central Arkansas. Ticket sales to the event generated approximately $50,000 and the Music Empowers Foundation matched these proceeds with a $50,000 grant. In total Mr. Allen and music Empowers raised $100,000 for Blackbird.

At a VIP event prior to the concert Andy Davis, Founder of Music Empowers Foundation spoke briefly about the benefits of music education for kids and the contributions of both Kris Allen and Music Empowers to the cause. Kris Allen and Music Empowers Foundation previously partnered to support Little Kids Rock, the largest provider of free music instruction and instruments in U.S. Public schools. Both were honored earlier this month at the Little Kids Rock annual “Right To Rock” Gala in New York City.
